Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women

This document outlines harmful practices that affect women and children, particularly girls. It highlights gender-based violence, patriarchal systems of power, and practices such as female genital mutilation, child and/or forced marriage, polygamy and honour crimes. This recommendation/general comment is a joint general comment, between CEDAW (Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women) and CRC (Committee on the Rights of the Child), organizations which aim to address and eliminate these harmful practices, in whatever form they occur.
